Radio: Manjarrez, Mendoza warn of rising costs from Democrat policies on KIT Radio, call for public engagement

Reps. Gloria Mendoza and Deb Manjarrez, both Republicans from the 14th District, joined KIT Radio’s Dave Ettl and the morning crew in Yakima on April 27 to discuss the outcome of the 2026 legislative session and what it means for Central Washington families.

The lawmakers outlined concerns about rising costs tied to state policies, including taxes, energy regulations and housing affordability, while pointing to what they describe as a growing disconnect between Olympia and communities east of the Cascades.

Both representatives stressed the importance of public involvement in the legislative process and encouraged residents to participate in town halls and engage directly with lawmakers.
