Rep. Deb Manjarrez discusses Washington’s affordable housing crisis, and her appointment to the governor’s task force to establish a Dept. of Housing
Rep. Deb Manjarrez discusses Washington state’s affordable housing crisis.
The state ranks dead last for the per capita supply of affordable housing, is the 4th most expensive state to purchase a house, and is the second worst state in the country to buy a starter home.
Manjarrez explains that years of one-party-control policy failures have led to the housing crisis.
However, her appointment to the governor’s task force on the establishment of a Department of Housing is an opportunity to ensure affordability, efficiency, and accountability are front and center in addressing the housing crisis challenge.
